Self Sufficient Elder Woman Meets Jesus (Right After the Rich Young Man)

As I have no doubt mentioned before, I have been working on the Ignatian Exercises on and off for a couple of years at least. Fr. Ed Broom, OMV (Oblates of the Virgin Mary) who does online and live retreats on the Exercises just recently released a book doing the exercises by yourself. I was on the Seventh Week when I was doing notes for this podcast entry, and I decided to try doing a version of the Rich Young Man, with me in a kind of dream sequence, I guess, of being the Self-Sufficient Elder Woman. After a lot of initial reverie about other things, that was the crux of this effort.

Decades ago, I moved to Los Angeles, California where the weather was more fair, ready to be a lawyer for which I had trained, but hoping to become a writer or radio broadcaster in which I had dabbled in college. The law and a steady income were more practical, but the tug of pure creativity never diminished. Another tug--of the soul--brought me back to my Catholic faith. Time passed with its inexorable determination. An opportunity presented itself to combine my experience of my reversion to faith with my creative side--a podcast called "Ordinary Old Catholic Me".
